Should we stop additional Canadian oil from entering the US via a pipeline? Canada is already our #1 source of foreign oil! Would the new pipeline not provide additional jobs and annual revenues (both private and public) for South Dakota and other states? Are pipelines the safest way to transport oil? Hosted by Beacom School of Business. • Book Blab will be held in the Community Room of the Vermillion Public Library on Thursday, Jan. 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. This is the fifth year adult readers will share favorite authors and books and discover some new ones with other book lovers. • National Music Museum (NMM) Brown Bag Lunch Program “Hornucopia” with St. Agnes Youth will serve breakfast The St. Agnes Youth Group is having a French toast breakfast fundraiser Sunday morning, Jan. 22, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the St. Agnes Gym. This breakfast fundraiser is for the St. Agnes youth Group Winter trip, to Mankato, MN, Skiing at Mt. Kato in February. There will be a free will offering taken at the door. Description: Overeaters Anonymous is a 12-step program for people with eating disorders and struggles. The group meets every Saturday at 9 a.m. at Sanford Vermillion Medical Center, 20 S. Plum – Administration entrance just south of the hospital entrance in the board room. • Vermillion Area Farmers Market, Saturday, Jan. 21 at Clay County Extension Bldg., 515 High St. The Winter Market includes fresh and preserved produce, local meats, crafts, woodworking, knife sharpening, breads and other baked goods. • Fun and Games will be held in the Community Room of the Vermillion Public Library on Saturday, Jan. 21 from 1 to 4 p.m. Adults and youth ages 12 and up will play board games and put jigsaw puzzles together. A wide variety of challenging and interesting games and puzzles will be available to provide mental stimulation. Learn or show others how to play Dominos, our newest game that offers a variety of game options. Drinks and snacks will be provided. For more information, visit Clay-Union Foundation seeks members The Clay-Union Foundation matches youth in both counties, and just made its 129 match last Sunday. Youth age 5 to 17-yearsold are welcome to join the program, and it is seeking more youth and adult volunteers. A female USD student would like to find a girl age 1216 in Vermillion, and a 14-yearold boy is seeking an adult male mentor to spend some time with him. More mentors and youth are being sought throughout both counties, as well as new sponsors, businesses which would provide a tour for the members, and event sponsors. The mentors spend two hours per week with their matches, with an emphasis on quality time together. All volunteers have background and reference checks, and each volunteer has their own special talents or skills to share with their match.
