Their involvement in the “Carp Control” project this school year, they admit, likely will mean they will willingly take on big projects at VHS. “I’m going to be more willing to do that,” Madelyn said, “because I’ve done this (Carp Control project), and I understand what it means to accomplish something. What we’ve been working on is something that could change the world; you can finally change something that all people can experience.” “The Asian carp process opened more opportunities for us,” Mady said. “Before, I don’t think we had the opportunity to go to the Game Fish and Parks, and research Asian carp further, and get an internship there to work with biologists, which is really good, because some people want to pursue this as their career.” “I think I’ll definitely be more outgoing in the future,” Shelby said. “I was really nervous in the beginning – I was scared that I was going to miss a meeting, or an opportunity.
