08 Broadcaster Press February 10, 2015 www.broadcasteronline.com VERMILLION POLICE REPORT SUNDAY, JAN. 25 12:51 a.m. — An officer stopped a vehicle for failing to yield to oncoming traffic. During the traffic stop, four female passengers in the vehicle were identified as under the age of twenty-one and found to have consumed alcohol. All four female passengers received a citation for underage consumption. The driver was not under the influence and was warned for the driving infraction. 1:36 a.m. — Officers received information regarding a house party where underage individuals were consuming alcohol. Officers went to the residence and made contact with the renters to investigate the information and noted there were several people at the house. Officers identified everyone present and a total of fourteen citations were issued to underage individuals who were found to have been consuming alcohol. MONDAY, JAN. 26 12:33 p.m. — Officers responded to a residence for a welfare check after receiving a call that a male and female had been arguing. Officers investigated the disturbance and determined that a domestic assault had occurred. The male was arrested and charged with domestic simple assault. 2:35 p.m. — An officer stopped a vehicle for a brake light that was not functional. The male driver was issued a warning for the brake light and received a citation for not wearing his seatbelt. TUESDAY, JAN. 27 7:01 p.m. — An officer stopped a driver for speeding 40 mph in a 25 mph zone. The female driver was cited for the speed infraction. 9:03 p.m. — An officer stopped a vehicle being driven by a male he recognized as having a revoked driver's license. During the traffic stop, the male driver was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with DWI and driving on a revoked license. WEDNESDAY, JAN. 28 12:43 a.m. — An officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested for DWI. 7:50 p.m. — Officers responded to a scene of a reported accident where a vehicle had struck other parked vehicles. The driver had left his vehicle and officers located him in a nearby construction area. The male driver was identified and officers learned he had outstanding warrants and a suspended driver's license. The male also appeared to be intoxicated and upon further investigation it was determined he was under the influence of multiple drugs. He was provided with medical attention for minor injuries and later arrested and charged with DWI, driving on a suspended license, hit and run (property damage), and the outstanding active warrants. 1815 9:15 p.m. — An officer responded to a local business for a report of an attempted theft. The officer investigated the incident and identified the female subject involved. The case is being referred to the State's Attorney for review and possible charges of theft against the female. 10:22 p.m. — Officers received a complaint of a possible intoxicated driver. Upon locating the vehicle and observing the vehicle, it was stopped for not maintaining proper lane position. During the stop, the male driver was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested for DWI. THURSDAY, JAN. 29 2:05 a.m. — Officers responded to a report of an assault that occurred involving several male individuals. The group of male subjects were stated to have left the location of the incident in a vehicle that was currently stopped by another VPD officer. Officers investigated the incident and a male subject was arrested and charged with simple assault. 4:33 p.m. — An officer stopped a driver for speeding 57 mph in a 35 mph zone. The male driver was cited for speeding. 6:54 p.m. — Officers responded to a residence to assist with removing an unwanted male subject from the home. The male left the residence prior to the officers' arrival. The male was located walking nearby.
